A large church desired to build an addition to their
facility. In the process of obtaining financing, a Phase l investigation
noted the presence of an unused fuel oil tank. This UST was determined to
present a risk to the property. The UST was removed and contamination was
noted in the tank pit. The contaminated soil was removed and placed in a
pile at the end of the parking lot.
The excavation was refilled with clean soil to minimize
the hazard of the open excavation. Residential properties are located on
three (3) sides of the property, including mostly single dwellings with
some multi-family apartment buildings.
